LS on 6GR system parameters
From Huawei
Summary
This liaison statement from RAN WG4 to RAN WG1 communicates the progress made on 6G system parameters to support the 6G Radio Study Item interim assessment timeline. It provides three attachments of agreed working agreements and WF documents covering waveform evaluations, channel bandwidth, and related parameters for RAN1's consideration.
Position
RAN WG4 requests that RAN WG1 take into consideration the agreed RAN4 progress on 6G system parameters for their ongoing study. The progress covers waveform evaluations with specific PA models, FFT sizes, and numerology designs, alongside definitions for maximum and minimum channel bandwidth for both UL and DL. It also addresses spectrum utilization aspects including asymmetric and irregular channel bandwidth deployments, as well as modulation, raster definitions, channel spacing, and device type parameters for low-tier devices.
Key proposals
- Proposal 1 (Part I): Waveform evaluation including PA model, maximum and minimum channel bandwidth (CBW), FFT size, numerology, asymmetric CBW, spectrum utilization, and irregular channel bandwidth.
- Proposal 2 (Part II): Modulation, channel raster, sync raster, channel spacing, and device type definitions including the smallest maximum channel bandwidth for 'low-tier' devices.
- Proposal 3 (Working Agreement): Working agreement on the maximum channel bandwidth for uplink (UL) and downlink (DL).
